Participants included local, state, and federal Mexican law enforcement agents, firefighters, and other first responders. U.S. Border Patrol - El Paso Sector Agents and Sailors from the Operational Health Support Unit, U.S. Naval Reserve Dallas, Texas trained the Mexican first responders. |

Ohio National Guard personnel airlifted pre-assembled ‘Normandy Barriers,’ each weighing almost one ton, to known drug trafficking national park border sites. The barriers prevent vehicle traffic, while still allowing wildlife to cross. |

U.S. Border Patrol – El Paso Sector
In response to a request for nighttime aviation surveillance assistance submitted by the El Paso Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol, Marine Air Group 39’s HMLA 267 “Stingers” self-deployed their FLIR equipped AH-1W Super Cobra and UH-1N Huey helicopters to the border city of El Paso, Texas. The Marines served as “the eyes in sky” for the Border Patrol agents on the ground. |

Joint Task Force North serves as a force multiplier, enhancing law enforcement agencies’ effectiveness through the application of unique Department of Defense technologies and capabilities. Military personnel alert the co-located law enforcement agents to the presence of suspected illegal activities.
