U.S. Air Force Col. Michawn A. Yuvienco

Deputy Commanding Officer

Colonel Michawn A. Yuvienco is the Deputy Commander, Joint Task Force North, Fort Bliss Texas.  He is responsible for overseeing USNORTHCOM’s Counter Transnational Criminal Organization mission in support of Law Enforcement and Interagency Partners along the 2000-mile US Southern Border and in Mexico. Prior to this assignment, Colonel Yuvienco served as Deputy Chief, Aircrew Training and Management Division at Headquarters Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington Virginia.  

Colonel Yuvienco is originally from Baltimore, Maryland.  He is a 2003 United States Naval Academy graduate, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and commissioned into the Air Force.

His Air Force career began as a Civil Engineer where he served at Andrews AFB, Maryland, Soto Cano AB, Honduras, and Yokota AB, Japan from July 2003 to December 2008.  He held various positions at the squadron level with two deployments in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. In 2009, he was accepted into and completed Undergraduate Remotely Piloted Aircraft Training. His first operational assignment was the 3rd Special Operations Squadron, Cannon AFB, New Mexico. He served in various leadership roles and as a MQ-1B Instructor Pilot with two deployments in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Colonel Yuvienco would later serve as Director, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Fundamentals Course, Assistant Director of Operations, and Instructor Pilot, 558th Flying Training Squadron, JBSA-Randolph AFB, Texas. He would then transition to Executive Officer, Plans, Programs, and Requirements Directorate, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command. Following his staff assignment, Colonel Yuvienco then served as Combat Operations Director, 867th Attack Squadron before serving as Director of Operations and MQ-9 Instructor Pilot, 17th Attack Squadron and Deputy Commander, 432d Operations Group, Creech AFB, Nevada.  In January 2021, he would deploy as Commander, 731st Expeditionary Attack Squadron, Campia Turzii, Romania.

Colonel Yuvienco has a Master of Science Degree in Engineering & Technology Management from Oklahoma State University and is Senior Developmental Education complete.  He is also a Senior RPA Pilot with more than 2200 hours in the MQ-1B and MQ-9.
